Biodiesel is far cleaner than petroleum
diesel, with significantly lower emissions of particulate
matter, hydrocarbons, sulfates and cancer-causing air
toxins.
Biodiesel has faced thorough testing
including emissions, health impacts and real-world road
tests.
As a result of these tests, biodiesel is a registered fuel
with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and is an
alternative fuel recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE) and the Department of Transportation (DOT).
-
Biodiesel is almost sulfur free, thus
reducing sulfur levels significantly vs. other fuels.
-
Biodiesel is produced in a closed CO2 loop,
therefore helping to lower CO2 emissions by 65-90% (vs.
conventional diesel) as agreed under the Kyoto protocol.
-
Generates in-use significantly lower particle
emission levels.
-
Biodiesel is 98% biodegradable within 21
days.
